Established as Consumer Protection Club "PIKS" on 24 February 1995 by support from State Anti-Monopoly Committee. "PIKS" is the second oldest non-governmental consumer protection organisation in Latvia. Chairwoman - Silvia Viksnina.

PIKS is engaged in advocacy work for consumer interests in Jurmala and Riga City.

PIKS Chairwoman Mrs. Viksnina is Latvia's representative in European Consumer Consultative Group in Brussels.

Our objectives:

• to inform and educate consumers;
• to solve consumer complaints;
• to establish precautionary consumer protection;
• to enhance equal opportunities between consumers and suppliers.

Our tasks:

• to represent consumer interests in politics and economics;
• to protect consumers by taking collective legal actions.
